ABOUT US
As an Indian American, the people, traditions, and culture of India has always been a source of fascination. A visit some years ago, revealed to me the beauty, generosity, and individuality of the people of India; the trip also exposed me to the struggles men and women living in India had to overcome- the poverty, the lack of educational resources for students, the lack of a support system for the people who truly required assistance. I was determined to find some way to contribute. Then, as if a manifestation of my hopes, the Muni Seva Ashram appeared. My visit to the Ashram as a young child has stayed with me over the years.
Now, I’m a senior, and I have the opportunity to help people in the way I wanted to, when I was younger. I know exactly which organization through which to carry out my event- the Muni Seva Ashram.
Why Bhagini Mandir:
In a place that truly exemplifies what an Ashram should be (a place where diseased, disabled, elderly, and all people in need are seen to, without discrimination), there is a place known as the Bhagini Mandir. "Bhagini" directly translates to "sister" and "Mandir" means Temple. Its a place that houses mentally disabled women, providing them with a home, independence, and treatment. In a world that often lacks compassion for people who are different to them, the Bhagini Mandir stands out. This is why I chose the Bhagini Mandir to be the heart of my project!

Why you should donate:
The Ashram propagates the belief that all we need to do to help others is love our fellow people, and be responsible for them. If you have ever wanted to help people, and have been unable to, please take this chance to reach out! Every dollar matters! I'm asking for the mentally handicapped women who have no one to look after them. This is a chance to be significant to someone whom you do not know. We know they need our help. So lets extend that helping hand. Thanks!
